Freelance Copywriter – UK-Based – Remote
We are looking for a creative UK-based freelance copywriter to support one of our clients—a global leader in the home improvement sector headquartered north of Copenhagen. The assignment involves writing and reworking long-form digital magazine articles aimed at homeowners, with a strong emphasis on blending human storytelling and technical insight. This role will contribute to evolving the voice of the company’s online magazine and enhancing its resonance with the UK market.
This is a remote freelance opportunity starting mid-to-late February. The scope is expected to be around five articles per month, with the potential for long-term collaboration.We are looking for experienced copywriter who can work independently, understands the UK home improvement context, and brings a confident, compelling voice.
Role:
• Write, edit, and rework long-form articles (approx. 3,000 words) for the company’s online magazine.
• Adapt and localize global content for a UK audience with a strong focus on clarity, tone of voice, and storytelling.
• Implement SEO recommendations effectively while maintaining readability and brand consistency.
• Collaborate with internal content and editorial teams to deliver high-quality articles to deadline.
• Conduct independent research and fact-checking with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ensure consistency with established editorial guidelines while bringing fresh perspectives to each article.
Profile:
• Strong experience as an copywriter, preferably in lifestyle, interiors, or home improvement.
• UK-based with fluent English writing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to balance informative writing with an engaging, human tone.
• Previous experience writing for UK audiences on home improvement topics; knowledge of local regulations or building standards is a plus.
• Confident in using SEO principles (keyword placement, metadata, structure).
• Proactive, independent, and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating content accordingly.
Additional Details:
• Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Tools & Platforms: Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Yoast, Google Analytics), CMS platforms, and editorial QA processes.
• Portfolio: Please provide samples demonstrating long-form, lifestyle/home-related content with SEO integration.
Availability and Logistics:
• Start date: Mid to late February.
• Workload: Approximately five articles per month (subject to final confirmation).
• Location: Fully remote – candidates must be based in the UK.
