Freelance/Interim Web Manager

For a leading global company based north of Copenhagen, we are seeking a Freelance Web Project Manager to lead a major website rollout and manage ongoing web maintenance and optimization tasks. This is a contract role anticipated to last 6 to 12 months, with the potential to extend based on project needs and the candidate’s fit. The position combines project management, technical implementation, and operational support across multiple regions, ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical and collaboration skills.

Role:

• Lead the roll-out of 11 new websites, handling project management, detailed planning, and fit-gap analysis with SEO teams to ensure each site meets brand and regional requirements.
• Coordinate translation tasks through XML imports/exports in Sitecore, working closely with a translation coordinator to ensure timely and accurate content deployment.
• Oversee the building and setup of new pages in Sitecore, coordinating with regional web managers and managing redirects and other core setup tasks.
• Prepare for a similar rollout in the U.S. by applying lessons learned from the CEE deployment, ensuring a streamlined and effective process
• Swap out old modules for new ones across TM markets, aiming to automate as much as possible with scripts, but handling manual updates where necessary.
• Build new pages by moving content from subdomains to the main domain, ensuring consistency and adherence to SEO guidelines.
• Collaborate with SEO teams to implement optimizations across various markets.
• Provide support to regional web managers on new block launches, usage, and any platform-specific updates.

Profile

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Sitecore CMS, XML for content handling, and SEO best practices. A strong operational background in web management and digital content structuring is essential.
• Project Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-regional web projects, particularly website rollouts and multi-stakeholder coordination.
• Expertise in managing site maintenance tasks, module rebuilding, content migration, and supporting scalable web infrastructure.
• A proactive communicator able to work effectively with SEO teams, regional managers, and developers to ensure a smooth workflow and transparent updates.

Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week on-site north of Copenhagen, with the remainder remote
Scope: Full-time for 6-12 months
Timing: December/January start
